Am I a Candidate for Beard Restoration?
If your facial hair is thin, patchy, or doesn’t cover your face entirely, you may be a candidate for a facial hair transplant.
You may also be a candidate for facial hair restoration if your facial hair has been affected by one of the following:
- Facelift or another cosmetic procedure
- Skin cancer
- Skin grafting
- Injury
- Hormonal conditions
A free consultation with our expert medical staff at Eternal Hair and Esthetics will determine if beard, mustache or goatee transplants are right for you.
How Does a Beard Transplant Work?
The Eternal Hair and Esthetics expert medical staff specializes in an exclusive hair transplanting technique called direct follicle implant (DFI). This innovative technique allows your specialist to extract healthy hair follicles that are genetically resistant to hair loss from a donor area (usually at the back of the head), and then implant each individual follicle into the region where you’d like to have more facial hair.
Eternal Hair and Esthetics has designed an exclusive extractor tool that can retrieve the maximum amount of healthy donor follicles without incisions or scarring. An exclusive implanter tool is used to implant the donor follicles in the exact right places to enable you to have the thick, healthy facial hair you desire – fully guaranteed.
What is the Process of Beard Restoration?
During your consultation, your specialist will complete a dermatological evaluation of your face and will analyze the hair at the back of your head for its donor potential. Your specialist will then design a treatment plan to meet your individual goals for the area, including density and symmetry.
The amount of donor hair follicles required varies depending on your individual needs.
Average numbers for each area:
- Mustache: 600 – 1,000 follicles
- Full goatee: 1,200 – 1,500 follicles
- Sideburns: 400-600 follicles per side
- Cheeks: 1,000 – 1,500 follicles per side
On the day of your procedure, your specialist will begin by extracting the donor hair follicles. After a short break, you’ll receive local anesthesia, and your specialist will carefully place each individual hair follicle into the previously designated area of your beard.
Following your procedure, you’ll be given instructions for at-home care of your new implants. Your new beard hair will grow normally for life, just like natural facial hair.
